Guidelines for Gypsy Jazz Musicians Interested in Performing at the Festival

We have a limited number of performance slots available each year, and currently, do not have an official application process in place. If you're eager to showcase your band or project at OzManouche, the best way to get in touch is by emailing us a project pitch.

When evaluating bands or projects, we consider the following aspects:

  1. Recordings: Do you have any recordings available that we can listen to?

  2. YouTube Performance Videos: Have you created any YouTube performance videos?

  3. Personnel and Instrumentation: Tell us about the members of your band or project and the instruments involved.

  4. Musical Genre and Aesthetic: Does your band or project align with the musical genre and aesthetic of gypsy jazz?

  5. Promotional Efforts: What is your track record for promoting your performances? And how do you intend to promote your show?

  6. Promotional Materials: Do you have promotional materials (e.g., press kits, posters, flyers) available?

  7. Fan Following: Tell us about your band or project's following and fan engagement.

  8. Festival Experience: Have you performed at previous festivals, either at OzManouche or elsewhere?

Please take note of the following:

  • We typically book bands up to a quintet.

  • Bands with piano, percussion or drums are not part of our booking lineup.

  • We favour guitarists who play manouche or gypsy jazz style guitars over nylon string, archtop, solid body electric or flat top instruments.

  • We prefer to work with artists who actively engage in promoting their performances and have a track record of doing so.

For all communication, please use email exclusively. We do not respond to performance pitches sent via SMS, Facebook Messenger, or any other form of Direct Message.

Band leaders, if you'd like to submit your performance pitch for consideration in next year's festival, kindly send it to info@ozmanouche.com by July 2024.

Thank you for your interest in the OzManouche Festival. We look forward to potentially showcasing your band or musical project at OzManouche

Warm regards,

OzManouche Festival Team
